As we have mentioned previously, getting the basics mastered is critical for your success. It might sound silly, but when you start out, the most useful skill you can practice is using your tweezers. Because lash application requires the use of your non-dominant hand, pointy tools and is so close to the client’s eyes, correct tweezer handling is a must!

As you learned in the video, there are two different types of trays, mixed length and single length. When removing lash strips from the tray, you should use an isolation tweezer and avoid using your pickup tweezers to prevent damage to their fine tip. Once you have carefully peeled off the lash strip, you then place it onto a lash tile or your preferred work pads.
The next fundamental skill is picking up an extension. When you pick up each lash for a classic set, you want to direct your tweezers to the middle of the lash. The reason being, if you go too low on the lash when you dip it into the adhesive, you might get glue on your tweezers. If you go too high, you will have less control over the lash.
