While some people find all the historical ‘stuff’ to be a bit boring, in this module, you will learn some really interesting facts about how lashes came to be and some of the crazy methods our ancestors used to attain ‘beauty’ in their respective eras.
In modern times, evolutions still occur and style, fashion and what we believe to be beautiful shifts with each trend. All you need to do is google ‘80’s fashion’ to see the stark differences between what was trendy then and what is trendy now. Just like hairdressers, makeup artists and fashion designers, as lash technicians, we need to continually evolve and embrace the trends to best serve our clientele.
As such, in this module, we will first take a look at the evolution of lash extensions dating back from 3500 BC to the 2000s. Next, we will look at industry trends that are changing the way we work and the sorts of looks we can achieve, including ways you can keep yourself up-to-date with changes in the industry. At the end of this module, we will finish with a brief look at the lash application process end to end so that you know what to expect from the upcoming modules. You will also be provided with a glossary of terms which you can download and reference throughout the duration of this course.
