Jason Hyland Co-founder
Co-Founder Jason Hyland identified the potential in the online education space before most of us. After commencing his career in real estate sales at the age of 18, he quickly moved into sales training and face-to-face course development. Identifying the power and reach of web-based education systems, Jason then moved on to partner with one of the earliest online education providers in a course development and student support capacity.
Over the course of the next fifteen years, Jason worked with numerous online education providers to improve course delivery systems and overall student experience. This has provided him with a unique and highly-sought after ability to assist those who are new-to-industry find success in their chosen field.
Jonathon McCormack Co-founder
Following a decade-long aviation career in the Royal Australian Navy and then Air Force, Co-Founder Jonathan McCormack understands what it takes to hone a set of skills and perfect your craft. After retirement from the military in 2015, Jonathan co-launched what has fast become one of the most successful aesthetic clinics on the Gold Coast.
Employing technicians and nurses across a range of beauty and cosmetic fields, he quickly became aware of a distinct lack of standardisation in training and education across the industry, and therefore a need for quality and easily accessible training and support delivered by industry experts with proven success.
Emma Lancaster Makeup Artist
After leaving school in 2002, Emma completed her training in fashion, glamour and bridal makeup at the Napoleon Perdis Academy. Following completion of her training, she then gained invaluable experience and honed her skills working with both Bloom and Loreal in Melbourne before relocating back to her hometown of the Gold Coast.
After completing further training in stage and screen makeup, she has worked as a freelance makeup artist for the past 15 years, servicing prominent brands, A-list models and celebrities, and bridal parties alike. Her decades worth of experience, attention to detail, and passion for sharing her skills and knowledge with others make her a perfect addition to the AestheticsED team.
Karla Threlfo Master Lash & Brow Technician
Commencing her career in the beauty industry in 2011, Karla quickly developed a love for lash and brow artistry while working on the international stage with prominent brands across the USA. In 2015, she was employed as the exclusive Brow and Lash Artist for global fashion and fitness juggernaut, WBFF, managing and directing beauty teams in London, Amsterdam, New York, Las Vegas and Miami.
After three years travelling the globe, Karla settled in Sydney and launched her own line of salons specialising in brow and lash services, as well as her own brow brand, IBROWZCO.
A proven leader in the industry, Karla has performed tens of thousands of brow and lash services, making her the perfect candidate to mould the next generation of beauty students into master lash and brow artists.
Sam O'Brien International Spray Tanning Expert
Sam is one of the most prominent and respected tanning experts in Australia. Following a successful career running his own tanning salons and beauty bars, Sam travelled the world providing a perfect glow for countless international events (Fashion Week, Miss World & WBFF just to name a few!).
A true expert of the industry, for the past decade he has been involved in creating some of the world’s most famous tanning formulas and skin finishes, recently launching his own innovative tanning line, Fusiontan. Having performed over 100,000 glow and skin services all over the world, Sam is AestheticsED very own international sunless tanning expert.
Tina Evans Master Nail Technician
AED’s resident Nail Technician, Tina, is a true expert in her field. With over 30 years’ experience in the nail and beauty industry, Tina is recognised as one of Australia and New Zealand’s top nail technology educators.
A former owner of her own highly successful nail training academy on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Tina has trained and delivered to the industry hundreds of successful professional nail technicians. A highly skilled nail tech in her own right, her ability to translate her own broad skillset into easy-to-comprehend instruction is unparalleled.
